Map a fruit tree!

Have a look at this great site:

http://www.fruitmap.sk

It allows you to mark the location - and type - of fruit trees in your neighbourhood. The UK is pretty thinly populated at the moment, although I've marked an old pear tree I know.

This is good transition stuff. One of the things a good Transitioneer is always thinking about is the food that can be grown locally. Fruit trees (and bushes) are real local assets - often ignored, sometimes treasured as a local secret, but always worth knowing about. If nothing else they are a great guide to what will grow well locally.

By the way I'm not worried about scrumpers for my pear tree. It's a fine old creature - but the pears are horrid!
