Free film show and discussion in the Hub, Touchwood at 7.30 on the 18th March

What will happen to Solihull as the price of petrol rises and rises? How will our lives change if supply becomes less certain? Can we do anything now to prepare for this low carbon future?

A new local group, Transition Solihull, believes that local people need to start asking these questions and working together to find the answers that will best suit Solihull.

This might mean developing schemes that encourage people to grow more food, or support local food producers. It might lead to projects that promote local businesses. It might involve increasing the amount of renewable energy that is generated locally.

The film shown is Crude Awakening which tells how oil production is peaking and how, sooner than anyone wants, supplies will reduce. There will be chance after to talk about what this might mean for our borough and, importantly, find out how other communities are addressing the same questions.

All welcome!
